Upon your arrival at Paro Airport, be prepared for a scenic drive to the enchanting capital city, Thimphu, situated at an altitude of 2320m/7656ft above sea level. The 1-hour 30-minute journey showcases panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountains, including the majestic Mt Everest (8848m/29,198ft) if weather conditions permit. As you journey towards Thimphu, make a stop at Tamchhog Lhakhang, a temple constructed by Thang Thong Gyalpo of Tibet, known for building numerous iron bridges throughout Bhutan.
