Itinerary

Embark on an awe-inspiring Druk Air flight to Paro, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. Whether flying along the majestic Himalayas from Kathmandu or over the picturesque foothills, each journey promises a mesmerizing descent into the Kingdom of Bhutan. Upon arrival at the Paro airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and facilitate your transfer to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan.
Overnight stay.

Commence the day with a sumptuous breakfast, followed by a full-day exploration of Thimphu. Visit the enchanting Trashichhoedzong, a medieval fortress/monastery housing key government offices and the King's Throne room. This edifice also serves as the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. Explore the National Library, boasting a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts. Journey to the Arts & Crafts School, celebrated for its traditional thangkha paintings, and witness students crafting intricate designs on cloth. After lunch, visit the Handicrafts Emporium, showcasing a diverse array of beautifully handwoven and crafted products. Conclude the day with a visit to the Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s Third King, revered as the Father of modern Bhutan. The monument's paintings and statues offer profound insights into Buddhist philosophy.
Overnight in Thimphu.

After a delightful breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha with a brief stop at Dochula pass (3,080m). Marvel at the panoramic views and the adorned chorten, mani wall, and prayer flags at the pass's highest point. If the skies are clear, catch sight of peaks like Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m ), Jejegangphugang (7,158 m ), Kangphugang (7,170 m ), Zongphugang (7, 060 m), and the majestic Gangkarpuensum 7,497m, Bhutan's highest peak. Explore Punakha Dzong, strategically nestled at the confluence of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, offering a vital religious and administrative center since 1637. The dzong, despite enduring fires and earthquakes, stands fully restored. Continue the journey to Wangduephodrang, renowned for bamboo products, slate, and stone carvings.

Following breakfast, drive to Paro, making a stop at Simtokha Dzong, the Kingdom's oldest fortress built in 1627 and now housing the School for Religious Studies. In the afternoon, explore Ta Dzong, repurposed as the National Museum since 1967, featuring a captivating collection of art, artifacts, thangkha paintings, and Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps. Stroll down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, housing the monastic body of Paro and key administrative offices.

Embark on a morning drive to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, offering historical insights into Bhutanese triumphs over Tibetan invasions. Visit a traditional Bhutanese Farm House for a glimpse into local lifestyles. Later, take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as the "Tiger’s Nest," with a legendary history of Guru Rinpoche's arrival on the back of a tigress. The round-trip journey takes approximately 5 hours. On the way back to Paro town, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and holiest shrines in the Kingdom.
