Derived from the local belief meaning ‘The Mountain with Spirit,’ Manaslu holds a sacred presence believed to be a benevolent and powerful holy being by the local inhabitants.

Embarking from Arughat, a quaint town 126 km west of Kathmandu, the trek follows the Budhi Gandaki River, winding through green countryside and lush forests before entering the culturally rich Nupri zone. Encounter enchanting Buddhist villages like Samagaon, Sirdibas, and Samdo, where the local speech, dress, and customs bear a striking resemblance to Tibetan culture.
The journey culminates with a challenging ascent to the Larke La Pass (5125 m), offering panoramic views of the Himalayas and glaciers. The descent through alpine meadows leads to the main Annapurna Circuit route, concluding in Syange and Beshisahar.
Optimal trekking conditions prevail during autumn (Mid-September to November end) and spring (March to mid-May), featuring sunny and warm days with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 30°C. Night temperatures hover between 5°C to -10°C.
